Critical Evaluation of Studies Alleging Evidence for Technosignatures in the POSS1-E Photographic Plates
Peer-reviewed accepted manuscript by Wesley Andrés Watters and colleagues evaluating published claims based on POSS1 photographic-plate features. The authors report that the claimed Earth-shadow deficit is not statistically significant in the datasets they examined and that the reported nuclear-test timing correlation becomes insignificant after normalization by relevant observation days, while also identifying dataset-definition, artifact and validation concerns.
