Avi Loeb Leads the IM1 Interstellar Meteor Recovery Expedition
Avi Loeb served as chief scientist for a June 2023 expedition that surveyed the Pacific seafloor near the calculated path of IM1 and recovered hundreds of spherules for laboratory analysis. The work broadened the Galileo Project’s investigation of possible extraterrestrial technological artifacts beyond aerial observations.
